Blackburn Ridge has a charming country homestead, dating back to the late 1800s, lovingly renovated to preserve its’ historic character.

Inside

Step back in time and relax.

Inside, a spacious farm-style kitchen with high ceilings and custom drapes offering a warm, rustic feel. The cozy lounge, complete with a fireplace, is perfect for relaxing on chilly winter evenings. Modern comforts blend seamlessly with the homestead’s timeless charm.

There are four bedrooms in the homestead, each with two comfortable long singles or on request, a super king. The rooms are beautifully presented with mirrors, side tables and reading lights. The recently renovated “sleepout” adjacent to the homestead has a further two long singles. Enjoy a luxurious sleep with 100% wool duvets and crisp cotton sheets.

The well-appointed bathroom and toilet is generously sized, while a second separate toilet and basin is also available. Adjacent to the sleep-out there is an ablution block with an additional two showers and two toilets. Complimentary ‘real world’ products are provided in both bathrooms. These products include, handwash, bodywash, shampoo and conditioner.

Bring the entertaining to the outdoors.

Blackburn Ridge boasts a large outdoor entertaining area. The spacious covered deck allows you to take indoor dining, outdoors.
There is also a seating area and cast iron outdoor fire, along with a range of outdoor games, for example Kubbs and Croquet. Wander over to a secluded and private outdoor area to relax in the wood-fired hot tub while taking in the panoramic views of the Ruahine Ranges. This area provides the perfect setting for memorable gatherings.

"Our group thoroughly enjoyed a fabulous winter gathering at Blackburn Ridge cottage. Close enough for all of us to make the weekend rendezvous from various parts of the North Island. The cottage is set in the heart of Hawkes Bay farmland and is overflowing with country charm. We had the fireplaces going for the whole weekend which added to the warm and cosy ambiance. The luxurious beds and bedding allowed for a peaceful night. We were lucky enough to be treated to the snow capped Ruahines and later, a wonderful night sky.
